An intimate ceremony at the historic Suffolk venue, Hintlesham Hall

Inarguably two of the most gentle and warm hearted humans I've had the pleasure of working with, Caroline & Nick finally got married at a no frills ceremony at one of my favourite wedding venues. Hintlesham Hall really comes into its own if you want elegance matched with quiet intimacy, something a lot of the larger dedicated venues struggle with.

After the ceremony the guests retired to one of the hall's beautiful siting rooms for a few drinks and canapés whilst we popped out for the front of the hall to catch the last of the light as the sun crept down to the horizon line. We only had about ten minutes but that was all we needed to get some of my favourite photos of the year.

Back in the hall the staff had turned The Parlour (where we had the ceremony) round to become a beautiful fine dining room. Because of the small guest list the experience was that bit more intimate versus your traditional wedding breakfast and more akin to a family dinner with the modern royals. Honestly the quality of the food held up to those standards as it always does at Hintlesham.

After dinner and speeches, everyone retired to a private sitting room to enjoy each others' company. I was quite grateful of the little nooks and crannies around the edge of the room to hide in so that I didn't intrude too much. It's always so much harder to remain incognito at weddings with a smaller guest list but Hintlesham is the perfect size and room arrangement that I have the space to melt into the walls a bit without the place feeling so big that the guests are rattling about the place.

This was my last wedding of 2022 and such a wonderful way to finish the year with wonderful people in a beautiful place with some truly outstanding humans who made me feel so welcome. It was also my second wedding at Hintlesham in a year, I love working at new venues and having the challenge of having to think on my feet a lot more, but it's always nice to revisit old favourites. Fingers crossed for a few more in 2023. 🤞🏻
