The Suffolk wedding photographer for people who hate fuss

I’m a documentary-led wedding photographer based in rural Suffolk, specialising in introverts and anyone who hates the idea of spending their wedding day posing for staged, cliché photos. You’re there to celebrate with your favourite humans – not endure a photoshoot.

I catch real emotion and real memories, not made-up moments, awkward directions or dinosaurs photoshopped into backgrounds (although that was iconic tbf). No posing, no faff, just honest photography that lets you actually enjoy your day.

When you look back at your photos years from now, I want you to remember how the day felt, not some bloke telling you to tilt your chin a bit more to the left.

While I specialise in Suffolk wedding photography, one of the brilliant things about this job is the incredible families you meet along the way – so I also occasionally photograph families, couples and engagements too.

You can see full real weddings and recent work on my journal, including celebrations across Suffolk, Norfolk and beyond.

Hate having your photo taken?

I know exactly how you feel.

The best wedding photos happen when you forget the camera exists. Your wedding day isn't designed to be a Vogue spread, so I’m not about to start choreographing your every move. If you hate feeling watched or on display, you’re in the right place. I know exactly how awkward it feels to have a camera glued to you, and I work in a way that makes sure you never feel like that.

Sounds great >

A few of my favourite Suffolk wedding venues

BRUISYARD HALL

With origins as a 12th-century nunnery, and now a grand country manor, Bruisyard reigns over around 700 acres of gorgeous Suffolk countryside and offers a fantastic all-in-one package. You and up to 28 of your favourite humans can stay in the hall before and after the wedding, while there’s also a beautifully restored events barn for the feasting and partying. On-site catering is absolutely first class, and the team are always utterly wonderful.

WOODHALL MANOR

A delicious Jacobean manor tucked near the Suffolk coast with grand interiors, beautiful rooms, a walled courtyard garden, and impressive fountains. It’s classy without being pretentious and boasts a surprisingly chic nightclub… thing. Very much doubt that’s how they’d describe it, but the take-home message here is that it’s very well suited as a wedding venue and has everything you could possibly need, including accommodation and catering included as standard.

EASTON GRANGE

Two impressively restored barns connected by a beautiful bar and courtyard. Easton Grange also includes a gorgeous Suffolk farmhouse which is available to stay in, and a collection of decadent Shepards huts next door, all nestled up against the river Deben. Easton Grange has a fairly modern look and feel with strong classic undertones and is easily one of the best-lit wedding venues in Suffolk. It is absolutely stunning from every single angle and it wins bonus points from me because it’s within walking distance of my house.

WILDERNESS RESERVE

Not a single venue but a sprawling, devastatingly beautiful private estate full of luxuriously restored cottages, barns and houses. Complete with woodlands, its own lake and a magnificent 17th century Georgian manor. The Wilderness Reserve is the very definition of exclusivity and is more akin to stepping into a different world where the rest of society ceases to exist. This venue is utterly incomparable, and is without contest the most beautiful venue I’ve ever had the fortune to photograph at.

LANWADES HALL

A grand Edwardian manor on the Suffolk–Cambridgeshire border. A little further afield for me, but deeply memorable thanks to the very warm welcome I got from the team. Lanwades also boasts expansive and varied gardens and a selection of entertainment rooms inside the manor, which together offers a wide variety of options for your wedding. Guests can also stay with you in the house meaning you can enjoy the company of your favourite humans the next morning as well.
